Clinical Information

Use as directed by your healthcare provider. Most patients apply one pump to the external genital area 15–30 minutes before sexual activity. Wash hands before and after use. If you miss a planned dose, apply when remembered unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not apply more than recommended.

The cream works by opening (dilating) tiny blood vessels in the genital tissue. Arginine increases nitric oxide, a natural chemical that relaxes vessel walls. Theophylline blocks enzymes that narrow blood vessels, keeping them open longer. Sildenafil blocks phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5), another enzyme that limits blood flow. Together, the ingredients raise local circulation, heighten nerve sensitivity, and may improve natural lubrication. Most users feel a warm or tingling sensation within 5–15 minutes, with peak effects around 30 minutes and lasting about 1–2 hours.

Do not use if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding (safety is not established). Do not use if you are allergic to theophylline, arginine, sildenafil, or any cream ingredients. Avoid use if you take nitrate medications (for chest pain) or riociguat (Adempas) because sildenafil can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Do not apply to broken, infected, or irritated skin. Not for use in children or men.

Because a small amount of sildenafil may enter the bloodstream, combining this cream with oral nitrates (Nitrostat), guanylate cyclase stimulators (riociguat), or other PDE-5 inhibitors (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra) can lower blood pressure too much. Alcohol and recreational drugs like amyl nitrite ("poppers") may add to this risk. Large doses of caffeine or other theophylline products can raise heart rate or cause jitteriness. Tell your healthcare provider about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you use.

Very common (affects more than 1 in 10): mild warmth, tingling, or redness at the application site—usually lasts less than 30 minutes. Common (1–10 in 100): mild headache, flushing of the face, slight dizziness, or stuffy nose. Uncommon (1–10 in 1,000): rapid heartbeat, nausea, or skin itching. Rare but serious: fainting, chest pain, severe rash, or swelling of lips, tongue, or throat (possible allergic reaction). Most local side effects fade quickly; stop use and seek medical help if severe or persistent.

Store tightly closed at room temperature 68–77°F (20–25°C). Keep the pump in its carton to protect from light. Avoid high heat, freezing, or excess moisture—do not keep in the bathroom. Keep away from children and pets. Discard any unused cream 6 months after first use or by the expiration date, whichever comes first. Use a pharmacy take-back program or mix with coffee grounds in a sealed bag before throwing away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:How quickly will I feel the effects after I apply Scream Cream?

A:Most women notice a warm or tingling feeling within 5–15 minutes. Peak sensitivity usually happens around 30 minutes, so apply ahead of planned intimacy.

Q:Where exactly should I apply the cream?

A:Apply the recommended amount to the external genital area (clitoris and surrounding tissue). Do not insert the cream inside the vagina unless your provider tells you to.

Q:Can I use the cream every day?

A:Your provider will tell you how often to use it, but most women apply it only before sexual activity. Do not exceed the number of doses your provider recommends.

Q:Is it safe to use with condoms or sex toys?

A:Yes, the cream is water-based and should not damage latex condoms or silicone toys. Allow the cream to absorb fully (about 5 minutes) before contact to reduce transfer.

Q:What if I get a headache or flushing after using the cream?

A:Mild headache or flushing can happen and usually goes away within an hour. Drink water, rest, and avoid alcohol. If symptoms are severe or keep coming back, stop using the cream and call your healthcare provider.

Q:Can I use this cream if I take blood pressure medicine?

A:Tell your provider about all blood pressure medications. Do not use the cream if you take nitrates or riociguat. Other blood pressure drugs are usually safe, but your provider may adjust your dose or monitor you more closely.

Q:How should I store the pump when traveling?

A:Keep the pump in a zip-top bag inside your carry-on to protect from heat and leaks. Do not leave it in a hot car or in direct sunlight.

Quad-Mix

This compounded injectable medication (often called “Quad-Mix”) contains four active drugs that work together to improve erectile function in adult men. When injected into the side of the penis before sexual activity, the medicine relaxes smooth muscle, widens blood vessels, and reduces outflow so more blood stays in the erectile tissue. A very small volume is used, and the effect starts within about 5–20 minutes and can last 30–90 minutes. Because it is a sterile compound prepared for each patient, strength ratios and vial size may vary based on your prescriber’s order.
