Shipping Protection Terms

Last updated: April 28, 2026

Shipping protection is an optional add-on at checkout. When enabled, your shipment is insured up to the cash value of your medication against loss or damage by the carrier while in transit.

1. What Is Covered

Coverage applies if the carrier (USPS, UPS, or FedEx) confirms your shipment was lost, destroyed, or damaged in transit between the time it was tendered to the carrier and the time it was delivered to your address of record. Coverage is up to the cash value of the prescriptions in the shipment, as displayed at checkout.

2. What Is Not Covered

Shipping protection does not cover:

  • Packages marked "delivered" by the carrier (including theft after delivery)
  • Refused, returned, or undeliverable packages
  • Address errors caused by the patient at checkout
  • Loss or damage caused by acts of God, government action, or carrier service suspensions
  • Ordinary handling-related cosmetic damage to outer packaging when the medication itself is intact and usable
  • Delays in delivery
  • Temperature-related degradation, loss of potency, or physical change in the medication during transit. Compounded medications can be sensitive to heat, cold, and humidity; Kare offers next-day services so patients can minimize this risk. When a patient selects a multi-day shipping service and a next-day option was offered at checkout, the patient is acknowledging the additional transit time and assumes responsibility for any resulting medication degradation.

3. How to File a Claim

Contact Kare Pharmacy through the patient portal messaging system or by email within 30 days of the original ship date. Include the prescription number and a description of the loss or damage. Kare will work with the carrier to verify the claim. Claim resolution (re-shipment, account credit, or refund of the medication value) is at Kare Pharmacy's discretion based on carrier verification and applicable law.

4. Optional and Refundable

Shipping protection is optional. You may decline it at checkout by toggling it off. The fee is non-refundable once a label is purchased and the shipment leaves the pharmacy.

5. Relationship to Other Coverage

Shipping protection does not waive or replace any rights you may have under federal or state consumer-protection law, the carrier's own claim process, or your credit card issuer's purchase-protection program.

6. Contact

For questions about this policy or to file a claim, message Kare Pharmacy through the patient portal.
