Metformin hydrochloride tablets are contraindicated in patients with: • Severe renal impairment (eGFR below 30 mL/min/1.73 m) [see].2 • Hypersensitivity to metformin. • Acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis, with or without coma.
