Clinical Information
Evidence-based details for healthcare providers
Use exactly as your prescriber directs. Swallow the capsule with water and remain upright afterward to limit throat irritation. Follow the directions about meals and spacing from dairy products, antacids, and supplements. Do not open the capsule unless the pharmacist tells you how. Follow the full prescribed treatment plan, and ask for instructions if you miss a dose or vomit after taking it.
Tetracycline attaches to structures inside bacteria that make proteins. This slows the growth of bacteria that are sensitive to the drug. It also has anti-inflammatory actions that may play a role when it is prescribed for acne.
Do not use if you have an allergy to tetracycline or related antibiotics. It is generally avoided during pregnancy and in children younger than eight because it can affect developing teeth and bones. Tell your prescriber about kidney disease, liver disease, plans for pregnancy, or breastfeeding before treatment.
Calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, antacids, and dairy foods can reduce absorption; ask your pharmacist how to separate them. Avoid combining tetracycline with isotretinoin because the combination can increase pressure around the brain. Tell your prescriber about warfarin and other antibiotics before treatment.
Nausea, loose stools, throat irritation, and sun sensitivity can occur. Use sun protection during treatment. Seek prompt medical care for severe or bloody diarrhea, painful swallowing, or a severe headache with vision changes. Trouble breathing or swelling of the face needs emergency care.
Follow the storage directions and beyond-use date on your prescription label. Keep the medicine in its labeled container, out of reach of children and pets. Ask the pharmacist about disposal.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is tetracycline used for in acne?
Prescribers may include tetracycline in an acne plan to target bacteria and inflammation. They may also prescribe skin treatments. Your follow-up visits help guide how long antibiotic treatment should continue.
Can I take tetracycline with milk or vitamins?
Milk, calcium, iron, and some other minerals can reduce how much tetracycline your body absorbs. Ask the pharmacist for a schedule that separates these products from your medicine and fits your prescription.
Are these tetracycline capsules vegan?
Yes. These capsules are prepared without gelatin or other animal-derived ingredients. If you have an allergy or a strict diet need, ask the pharmacist to confirm the ingredients in your prescription.
Is this FDA-approved?
No. This compounded medicine is prepared for one patient on a prescription. It is not FDA-approved. FDA does not review it for safety or effectiveness before it is made. Separately, FDA-approved tetracycline capsules treat specified bacterial infections and may be used as an added treatment for severe acne.

Hydroquinone | Retinoic Acid | Hyaluronic Acid | Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)
This prescription-strength cream combines four commonly used skin-brightening and anti-aging ingredients to target dark spots, uneven tone, and fine lines. Hydroquinone 8% helps lighten stubborn hyperpigmentation. Retinoic acid 0.05% speeds up skin cell turnover for smoother, fresher-looking skin. Hyaluronic acid 0.2% draws in moisture to plump and hydrate, while ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) 2% provides antioxidant protection and a healthy glow. The formula is intended for short-term, supervised use under a licensed healthcare provider.

Tretinoin | Hyaluronic Acid Cream
This compounded face cream blends tretinoin with hyaluronic acid to smooth wrinkles, fade dark spots, and deeply hydrate the skin. Two strength options let your skincare provider choose the best starting level: 0.05% | 0.2% for sensitive or first-time users, and 0.1% | 0.5% for those who need a stronger effect. Most people notice softer, brighter, and plumper skin after 8–12 weeks when the cream is used every night and paired with daily sunscreen. The medication is dispensed in a 30 g tube for easy, once-daily application.

Calcipotriene | Fluorouracil Cream
Calcipotriene | Fluorouracil Cream combines a vitamin D-like medicine (calcipotriene) with a cancer-fighting medicine (fluorouracil). Together they target rough, sun-damaged spots on the skin called actinic keratoses. Calcipotriene helps your immune system recognize damaged cells, while fluorouracil destroys those cells so new, healthy skin can grow. This prescription cream is applied to affected skin as directed by your healthcare provider.

Metformin Cream
Compounded topical metformin cream is prepared by a licensed pharmacy for skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis when your healthcare provider believes standard treatments are not enough or not well-tolerated. It is not an FDA-approved product for skin use, but it is made under pharmacy compounding regulations for individual patients with a valid prescription.
